Experience the 2025 Art & Words Festival at Gibsons Public Market

Mark your calendars! The Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society invites you to the Art & Words Festival, happening August 22–24, 2025 at the Gibsons Public Market.

Founded in 2021, the Society is a non-profit dedicated to celebrating and advancing the literary arts. Through community programs, workshops, and events like the Art & Words Festival and the popular Tale Trail, they provide a space for local writers and artists to share their creativity and craft.

At the festival, artists and writers collaborate to produce unique pairings—each visual artwork is matched with an original written piece, offering fresh perspectives and creative dialogue. This year, Cheryl Wheeler’s artwork will be featured alongside the writings of Rose Clarke in Ode to Water, and Denise Olson in Birth of Water.

Come stroll through the market, immerse yourself in the synergy of visual and literary expression, and celebrate the voices and visions of our Sunshine Coast community.
